At the first of the year I set eleven goals for the year. Setting is easy. Going forward with them is another thing. To make them something more than wishes one needs to make a monthly progress report. That I have done and can say that in some things I have been successful, some things were a bit too ambitious, and some things are not looking good. I was cagey, however. I built in six months leeway so that the too ambitious can still be achieved this year and there is still time to turn the ugly around. The upshot is that goals are good and keeps one focused.
As for the T-Mobile / AT&T merger, I am still dead set against it while the money mongers continue to tout how great it is and how the government will eventually approve the deal. That sounds suspiciously like "we'll wear them down," "we'll make the deal sweet enough regulators just can't resist." How much chocolate ??
A commercial aired again tonight on TV where T-Mobile claims it's rates and service are much superior to AT&T. Between them is a guy without a shirt who went with AT&T. Well, guaranteed, they become one, the poor fool will loose his trousers as well.
While at it, I have been a supporter of the Republican party since I knew what a Republican was, about six or seven. I put up posters for Isenhower. (My doing not promoted by my parents.) My parents were Republicans and that organization always mirrored my political philosophy of conservatism. That's sixty years. I am so disappointed at what they represent today and the childish way they act that I am withdrawing support. Tea Party? No, I am not into radicalism. Independent works. I will support that candidate which nears my beliefs and to hell with any national organization. They've prostituted themselves to the money/power mongers. Let them lie in bed with one another without my blessing. Besides, maybe a few more years of Democratic rule will move us closer to the last days a bit faster.
