Some days one feels stranger than on others, especially when one has a “really strange” sense of humor. (not my assessment).
A writer says:
I am always slightly terrified when I exit out of Word and it asks me if I want to save any changes to my novel or work in progress, that I swear I did not make changes to. I become a fear monger when this happens. Am I over-reacting?
Oldguey expert replies:
Dear Over-reacting. Touching or sneezing just one key, even by mistake will trigger the save response. If you are sure there were no intentional changes just say no. You'll be fine. But on the other hand, if you are dealing with a MS product, it could just shred, incinerate, and launch everything into outer space. Actually, the only thing you have to fear is the abject, bullet-sweating fear of . . . PROGRAM ENDED UNEXPECTEDLY. REBOOT TO START OVER ... and you're driving down the Interstate, trapped in the inside lane at 80 mph in southern California traffic. (Why Windows might not be a viable system for today's computerized cars) Same feeling when it happens and it's your manuscript in there.
